I know the past couple of months have been crazy and I’ve been MIA but I’ve got a fun project I’ve been working on and I can’t wait to share with with everyone! I figured since my little Knox is turning 1 today I would recap on his birth story so I could have in case I ever forgot..(which I know I won’t because that was the most pain I’ve ever experienced in my entire life!) Get a drink ready because this is going to be a long one.
So I’ll start with this..my due date was March 13, 2016. When I had my 36 week checkup I was already dilated to 2cm so I had a feeling I would have him early, like I did oldest. Monday came and I had my 37 week checkup. I was 4 1/2 cm dilated and almost 50% effaced. I had no signs of labor so my doctor sent me home and we were certain that by Monday next week I would have the baby. I secretly was hoping that he would be born on that Monday because he would have been a Leap Year baby and I think that would have been fun!
Wednesday February 24 came and I had no idea or plans of having a baby that day. I had started a few days back having mild contractions but I never can tell what the difference between real labor contractions and braxton hicks contractions. I woke up like normal, Kellan and I had breakfast and hung around the house. We met my mom for lunch at the Steakhouse and I remember our waitress told me that I looked like I was going to have that baby today and I laughed and thought she was crazy. Kellan and I came home and both napped. I had made dinner and we got all of our stuff ready because we were so excited for Kellan to be in his first little BMX race.
Right before we had left I felt a really bad contraction. Again, I wasn’t sure it it was a BH contraction or a labor contraction but I just remember I looked at the clock just to make sure if I felt another one I could time it. We loaded in the car and were driving on our way to the BMX track. On the way there I had another contraction and another when we got there. So they were about 10 minutes apart. I remember during the national anthem I was having one and they were getting closer together. Kellan had finished racing and as we were walking back to the car I felt A LOT of pressure. I told Ethan that we needed to get home FAST because we were going to have a baby!! My mom always says I should have just went to the hospital from there but I wasn’t ready to go to the hospital and I wanted to go pick up my bags.
I raced home and one of my girlfriends came over. I ran a bath hoping this would help me feel better. I have to say, I swear the bath helped with the pain of the contractions. I felt pressure but it was nothing like the pressure I felt before or after the bath. An hour had passed and my contractions were about 4-5 minutes apart. They say to come in when they get this close and I was ready to get out of the bath and get dressed to go. The second I got out of the bath I was having contractions 1 minute apart! I was in so much pain I started crying!! I got dressed so fast and yelled to Ethan to lets go! My girlfriend stayed to watch Kellan until one of my grandparents could come and watch him. We were on the road to the hospital and I was seriously in so much pain it felt like I was in a dramatic movie. Ethan was driving like a grandpa and I feel bad because I screamed at him to drive faster! One of my birthing fears is that I wouldn’t make it to the hospital and I would have a baby on my own! So I NEEDED Ethan to get me there FAST!
Because it was 10:30 at night we had to go through the ER so Ethan dropped me off and I got out and told them I needed to go up to labor and delivery. It felt like they had taken their sweet time before someone came to get me. (They push you in a wheelchair upstairs to the L&D area) We got up there and they got me into a room and before I even put my gown on I told them I wanted an epidural right away. She said ok we’ll work on it because they have to call somebody in since it’s so late at night. I figured 30 minutes tops. I got all settled, the nurse checked me and said I was almost dilated to 8cm and she was surprised that I even walked in there. It was now almost 11:30pm I was in so much pain, I still hadn’t gotten an epidural yet, I asked when he was going to be here she said in probably an hour that they were going to call him in right now. I remember I started crying because I couldn’t believe they hadn’t even called him yet. I was feeling a ton of pressure and asked her if she needed to check me before she called. She said, “Yeah I’ll check you right now.” She checked me and when she did she said she accidentally broke my water and I was already dilated to a 10! I just remember her saying, “Sorry sweetie, looks like you’re not going to get an epidural.” I was so devastated because with Kellan I really didn’t want to have one but I was in so much pain because of the way he was positioned that I couldn’t have been in labor that 13 hours without one! So with this baby I was like I’m not against it if I need it and because they said I couldn’t I started crying…NO TEARS! haha My doctor was called in and I just kept repeating, “I can’t have this baby without an epidural!” (I’m not dramatic or anything) My doctor assured me many times that I WAS having this baby without one and it was too late to get one. I cried and cursed and screamed and I pushed 3 separate times and at 11:47pm they placed my little 6lb 9oz baby boy on my chest.
Happiest of Birthdays Baby Boy!

As always all thoughts are my own
I’ve teamed up with HelloFresh and couldn’t be more excited about this concept! Especially considering we were out of town for the holidays and came back home with no food in our fridge but we did have food at the door!
They have a good selection of plans to choose from. Considering we are a family of four we got the Family Plan, which serves 2 adults and 2 children. You get three hand picked meals that contain meat, fish, and veggie recipes. The Veggie Plan has vegetarian meals only. This meal plan comes with 3 recipes also and serves 2 – 4 adults. Last but not least the Classic Plan. You get to pick from six meal recipes. Just like the family plan it comes with fish, meat, and veggie recipes.
Kellan and I had so much fun with these recipes. The best part about the family plan is that the flavors are super kid friendly. Nothing is too spicy but the do provide extra spice for anyone who wants to add it.
The first day I made Garlicky Shrimp Scampi. I will be the first to admit I am not a seafood person. I have never, not once, cooked seafood in my life. I was pleasantly surprised by this recipe and yes I ate it! The recipe was incredibly easy to follow along and told me exactly what to do and when to do it. I’m notorious for starting something too early and it gets cold before everything else is done.
Let me just say, I’m excited that they come with a recipe book because these are going to be some recipes we start to rotate in our dinner menus!
The second day we made a Tomato Bisque that was incredible!!! I am seriously in love with this recipe and so surprised how easy it was to make! Kellan and Knox decided to help me in the kitchen this time. We had so much fun making this one together. If you can’t tell both of my boys love cheese and bread! They take after their mama!! I’m a soup out of a can kind of maker and I just love how fresh and healthy everything tasted. I’ve already went and bought the ingredients to make it again because I loved it that much!
The third recipe was Chicken Satay Skewer. This was the kids favorite because well lets be honest, you can never go wrong with chicken for kids. It had a tasty peanut sauce to make and the snow peas were so delicious that I actually could have eaten them all!
This was so fun and definitely something we’ve never tired before but I can’t wait to for our next order! If you’re interested in trying it out and want $35 off of your first order use code HEYERIN35.
I keep saying this but where the heck did the year go?! Last month I was a teeny tiny bit late on the favorites so if feels like I just made this but I’m sure excited about this months favorites!
Bath and Body Works Candle
This is the candle that I loved for this Christmas season! They currently don’t have it on their site but maybe if you go check in the store they might. Also the Semi Annual Sale is going on do you definitely don’t want to miss that! This candle is called Tis the Season. It’s a spicy/sweet smell. You get a hint of apple which I love.
GlamGlow Gravitymud Firming Treatment
*When I checked back on this products this one is currently out of stock.*
So I posted in one of my YouTube videos me putting this on because I received it in last months favorites, my Sephora Play Box, I will be purchasing this when it does come back in stock because I loved how soft it made my face feel!
Boscia Makeup Breakup Cool Cleansing Oil
I love using this to remove my heavy duty makeup. You know the days when you put on way too much make and you end up having to wash your face two times because you just can’t get it all off! Well this cleanser is my go to when I need to get my crazy eye liner and mascara and my packed on foundation!
Breath of fresh air is my favorite toner of all time! If you don’t know by now I love all Lush products. The best part is these products are all natural and cruelty free. This toner is not made with any alcohol and leaves your face feeling very refreshed.
Since it was the holidays we were traveling a lot and I hate taking so much makeup with me so I try to pack sample or small size products so I’m not taking up too much room in my suitcase. I am a victim of having huge eyeshadow pallets that I never take with me when traveling because they take up too much space and always have to end up using my bronzer as an eyeshadow. This little guy is perfect for traveling.
Have you tried any of these? If you have which ones are your favorites?
Mimosas are a New Year tradition in our house! Granted for 2 year I had a mimosa minus the champagne, so the orange juice was delicious, but we love doing breakfast and mimosas! I wanted to add a little twist this year to the traditional mimosa that we make and I came up with three mimosa recipes that I know you’ll love!
I rimmed the glasses with corn syrup and our organic sugar.
What You’ll Need:
Cooks Brut Champagne
Malibu Coconut Rum
Maraschino Cherry Juice (I couldn’t find grenadine at the store anywhere so I just used this)
In a seperate glass add 1/3 orange juice, 1/3 pineapple juice, 1/3 Champagne, 1 oz Malibu Rum, splash of cherry juice. Mix together and pour in to glass. Strawberry for garnish
Pineapple Mango Mimosa
What You Need:
Cooks Brut Champagne
In a separate glass mix 1/2 pineapple juice, 1/2 champagne, and dice up fresh mango. Frozen mangos would work too. Pour into champagne flute and enjoy!
Orange Creamsicle Mimosa
What You Need:
Cooks Brut Champagne
Pinnacle Whipped Vodka
Heavy Whipping Cream
In a separate glass mix 1/3 cup of orange juice, splash of heavy whipping cream, and 1 oz Pinnacle whipped vodka. Mix and add to glass. Top off with champagne, add an orange for garnish and enjoy!
I hope you guys like these drinks and let me know what your favorite New Years drink is?

THE WINNER IS LIZ EDWARDS!!!
Who’s ready for 2017?! I can’t believe it’s right around the corner! 2017 is going to be a great year! I have big plans for this blog, our family, and I’m excited for the journeys we have ahead of us with the boys. That being said, I am one of those people that need to write things down or else I forget. I am a list making junkie. Do they have support groups for planner addicts?
I couldn’t be more excited to use this Start Planner. This bad boy is so organized any planner addict would be excited to use it. It has a monthly overview and than a break down by day and into each hour. You can keep track of your water intake for the day. They also have a reminder to work out and to take your vitamins. Each month has a mini goals, grocery list, and a health check to help you keep track of your fitness goals.
Something I really love is that in the front of the planner it has a section to write down your goals for the year, monthly break down of a savings and expense plan, and it has a list for seasonal cleaning (which I DEFINITELY need in my life). When looking for your own planner what is a must have that you look for? Me, I love a good notes section because I have random thoughts and things that I need to write down so I don’t forget. Mom brain is a real thing!!

The beginning of this month has just been hectic but what do I expect for the month of December, right!? I ended up getting sick and wanting to do my monthly favorites but I didn’t get a chance! SO mid December for my November favorites isn’t too bad..hopefully!!
Here are my favorites for the month of November
Sephora Play Box
This Sephora subscription box has been one of my favorites. If you’ve never subscribed to a box before they are pretty addicting! You get so excited to see what you’ll each month in the mail! Well if you love beauty this one is awesome! For $10 you get deluxe samples of 5 name brand products and a fragrance! They send you a “Play Book” that tells you about the product and if you purchase anything that month you get an extra 50 points added to your VIB card.
Sally Hansen Quick Dry Nail
I have been obsessed with these nail polishes for the past year but because this time of year we took quite a few family pictures that I needed my nails painted I used them quite a bit more in the last month. I’m not joking about the quick dry! Since I’m chasing around two little boys all the time I need something that’s fast. I would say in no more than 3 minutes are your nails completely dry! No smudge, no moving, NOTHING! Don’t believe? Try it out yourself and let me know how it worked for you.
Morphe Blush Brush
If you’ve never heard of Morphe don’t feel bad you’re not the only one. They only have one shop located in Burbank, CA. They make super affordable makeup brushes that work like a dream and the bristles are so soft! I’m just talking about the blush brush but I love the other ones I have too and won’t be looking back! I couldn’t find my exact blush brush on the site but I found one that is almost identical! Mine is the M105 this one is M142 and only $5.99!
Colour Pop Lippie Stix
For how affordable this brand is the formula is great! Because it’s winter time I’m going with the dark shade called LBB but I also love my nude and red colors also! The plum wine color is perfect for bringing in the New Year!
Pevonia Exfoliate Scrub
I’ve been using this exfoliate scrub off and on for about 6 years and I love it! It’s one I like to keep in the shower and use once or twice a week! The little beads leave your skin feeling so soft and smooth. This is great to unclog pores, flakey skin, or anyone looking for smooth feeling skin!

Holidays are known as the season of giving and what better gift than a beautiful and unique JORD Wood Watch! It’s so hard shopping for a guy that doesn’t need or really want much. I just recently have been talking about looking for a nice watch to get Ethan and when JORD reached out to me I thought this couldn’t be more perfect! Ethan, being the mechanical man that he is, loved this Dover Series because you could see all of the gears winding around. This specific watch we got for him was the Ebony and Rosewood. Something I found interesting was that the Rosewood was from Brazil and the Ebony is from East Africa, how cool is that!
This is such a beautiful time piece and for the price you can’t beat it! One of the coolest feature about all of the JORD Wood Watches is that they are self winding which means they are battery free. I’m a little embarrassed to say that I may be known to have a few watches in my closet that are in desperate need of a battery.
Every single one of the watches on the website are absolutely beautiful! They also have Womens Wood Watches so if you’re looking for a special gift for someone or even yourself you must check them out! If you have no idea where to start for your lady, here is my favorite Frankie Series. You still have time to order a watch for it to be here before Christmas.
Don’t forget to sign up HERE to get a special code for a $25 gift card to use on your watch!
